What is Nutritional medicine?

We are what we eat. Nutrition plays an important role in virtually every medical condition and nutritional advice can help you achieve health and wellbeing with every meal. Addressing any existing nutritional imbalances and adopting a healthy diet are of great importance to your overall wellbeing. Nutritional medicine uses food, and individual nutrients in doses only achievable in supplement form, for medicinal and therapeutic effects.

What is Herbal medicine?

Herbal medicine is the oldest form of medicine.  It has been used by many different cultures to heal, improve immunity, restore balance, improve vitality and improve lives. Herbal medicine works by using all natural plant extracts to treat specific ailments, and more specifically to act as a preventative measure in order to achieve ongoing and consistent health and wellbeing.

What to expect in your consultation

Your initial consultation will last around 60 minutes. To make the most of your time with your practitioner, we recommend you complete the New Patient Form and complete the Context of Care Questionaire to bring with you on your first visit.

On your first visit, you and your practitioner will have a detailed conversation about your health and wellbeing. You can expect further questions to be asked of you, and you can expect your practitioner to listen carefully to you.

Some diagnostic tests may be required to gauge a more accurate status of your health.

Each consultation is tailored to your specific needs and will include discussions about your diet, lifestyle and medical history. You can be assured that you will receive a thorough assessment and the best advice and care available to suit your specific wants and needs.

On your second consultation a clear treatment plan will be outlined for you. This may include dietary and lifestyle advice and where appropriate, the prescription of herbal medicines and/or specific nutritional supplements. Our emphasis is on education. We aim to give you the tools to gain a greater awareness of your own individual needs so that you can obtain and maintain great health.
